15 Quirky New Year’s Resolutions, 2013

1.  Remember that it’s all about perception.  Stuff  wishes and memories in a salsa jar or attach them to a shooting star.

2.  Breathe.  Be wild.  Attend to your webbing.  Connections make a difference.

3.  If some of the pictures you recall most vividly are the ones you didn’t take, that’s okay.

4.  Happiness can be found in almost anything — a pair of blue woolen socks, a string of beads, a heart full of secrets.

5.  No one sees the stars that fall in the day time, but you can watch the sun slip down through the trees and imagine.

6.  Experience the joy of being a wanderer, a bird blown free in the wind — even if it’s just for a moment.

7.  Go in search of hope.  The beginning of hope smells like honeysuckle.

8.  Learn to be happy singing the harmony, instead of the melody, on occasion.

9.  Consider this: tranquility as another name for freedom.

10.  Believe in ordinary magic — hummingbirds, flowers, summer grasses, rain, dreams.

11.  Dance barefoot, sleep in a hammock, be as fearless as the sea turtles in embracing destiny.

12.  To ponder, Rumi’s words: “Grafitti people on bathhouse walls have intelligent origins, but think who drew the mind!”

13.  If he/she doesn’t know what flavor ice cream you like, perhaps he/she doesn’t know you.  So…

14.  Black and white is best stored away with old movies and photographs; live life in color.

15.   Light a fire, tell a secret, sing a lullaby…open the shutters and let in the light!
